“Generous Scholarship Support”

The Kenneth G. Mills Foundation is pleased to announce the 2025–26 recipients of its scholarships at the Glenn Gould School of the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto: Leonardo Rincon, violin (Kenneth G. Mills Scholarship), and Charlotte Anderson, voice (Dianne Forsyth Vocal Scholarship). As James Anagnoson, dean of Glenn Gould School, said in a recent email to the Foundation, “Thanks to you, these passionate and committed students can focus on their studies, making the most of their time at GGS.”

Leonardo Rincon is a fifth-generation violinist currently pursuing his bachelor’s degree at the Royal Conservatory of Music with Professor Mayumi Seiler, after two years at the Cleveland Institute of Music (CIM). He has performed in masterclasses with artists such as James Ehnes and was a member of the Advanced Piano Trio Program at CIM where he was under the guidance of Sharon Robinson and Jaime Laredo, among others. A dedicated orchestral musician, Leonardo was a member of the National Youth Orchestra of the United States of America and is currently a regular substitute with the New World Symphony. He recently attended the Bowdoin International Music Festival and has placed in competitions including the New World Symphony Side-by-Side Concerto Competition, Beethoven Romance Competition, and Festival of the Arts Boca.

Soprano Charlotte Anderson, known as “a charming and engaging performer,” is in her final year of the Artist Diploma Program at GGS. Highlights of last season include operatic debuts as Zweite Dame in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte and La Chauve-Souris in Ravel’s L’enfant et les sortilèges; a concert debut with the Noise Academy in the North American première of Leroux’s Quid sit musicus for vocal ensemble, instruments, and electronics; and a solo recital centred around Lieberson’s evocative Neruda Songs. Additional recent credits include Soeur Mathilde in Poulenc’s Les dialogues des Carmélites and Tina in Dove’s Flight. Charlotte holds a bachelor of music (honours) from GGS, where she continues to study with soprano Stephanie Bogle and vocal coach Rachael Kerr. Alongside her classical endeavours, she is also a trained jazz pianist, vocalist, and composer.
