“Coat of Many Colors” was the title chosen for a lecture given by Kenneth Mills, and this recording marks the first time an entire Unfoldment™ was put into dramatic form. The stage production of “Coat of Many Colors” called for three Wizards to appear in the Prologue and Finale. When the EarthStage Actors came to do the recording, the author, Kenneth George Mills, was asked to read those sections assigned to the Wizards, and he most graciously complied. Since Dr. Mills originally gave “Coat of Many Colors” as a spontaneous lecture, he is in a sense the original Wizard of it all! Scripted by Dr. Barry Brodie and accompanied with music by award-winning film composer Michael Small.
This recording also includes the dramatization of seven of Kenneth Mills’s poems, originally given spontaneously at unexpected times and in surprising settings: after a performance, in a garden, or while traveling in Europe. These poems have provocative titles such as “The Wind in the Hand,” “What Is This Presence?” and “Resplendent Magic,” and five are accompanied by music originally composed and performed by Kenneth Mills.
