PAUL SARGIA

Terry StevensPaul Sargia was born and raised in New Jersey just outside New York City. Although he majored in Health and Physical Education at Slippery Rock State College in Pennsylvania, he decided not to go into teaching. Instead he worked as a house framer and a copy-shop manager, and he is currently a private chauffeur. Over this time he has developed his talents as a screenwriter and recently won a contest for his screenplay The Man Who Stops Time. The contest was presented by The-GreenLight.com, a resource for those interested in the cinematic arts.

In his own words:

"I think I am very fortunate. I know that I am not naturally a gifted writer and am in awe of the talent of others. But I also know that I can be inspired. You see, I am aware of the Core of my Being and, when attuned to It, I can be led to some very imaginative places. And I can thank my mentor, the late Canadian philosopher and poet Dr. Kenneth G. Mills, for that. He awakened me to the Divine Essence underlying all mankind - the goal being to live totally from that perspective. This is something he appeared to do with a vibratory-altering Presence that was much acknowledged by those who came to know him.

I began writing just a few months prior to meeting Dr. Mills. It was a yearning waiting to be activated, and yet I had no goal or significant purpose for doing so, other than a general intention to somehow affect others positively. Scenes that seemed dramatic in nature would pop up into my head, but I had no idea where to take them. Then, over a long period of time, when I could feel myself growing as a result of interactions with Dr. Mills, I began to find direction for my stories. I finally felt I had something purposeful to say.

From then on it just took work - learning the correct formatting for screenwriting, a willingness to listen to constructive criticism, and, of course, re-writing and re-writing - before any of it was ever considered "good." And, believe me, there is always the feeling that it can be better, which is undoubtedly a good thing because having gone back to re-work old scripts, I have done well in several contests.

A synopsis of the winning script, "The Man Who Stops Time"

The storyline tells of the powerful frequency of Love and how it can be intensified when it is put into sound. The story's premise concerns a boy whose mother dies during his birth while her favorite song is playing. Later on, time stops for the boy every time he hears the song, representative of his mother's perfect and timeless love for him. In those moments he learns he can do things that affect the events that occur when time starts again. Eventually, as a man, he is in a position to do something to prevent a catastrophic world tragedy. Over a worldwide emergency broadcast network he plays the very song that has been the underlying theme of his life and which has the power to temporarily reverse the negative frequencies at the core of the world's problems.
